Who We Are

Bangladesh Rural Elevation through Agroecological Transformation

BREAT is an upcoming, non-profit community action organization based in Bangladesh. We sit at the intersection of climate resilience, environmental science, and agricultural development, working to scale sustainable ecosystems through inclusive, youth-driven, and women-led initiatives.

Agroecology and green farm fields in Bangladesh

Our Mission

We deploy community-driven agroecological frameworks that rehabilitate degraded ecosystems, establish food security, and bring climate-smart agricultural mechanization to the communities that need it most.

Who We Serve

BREAT places structural emphasis on empowering rural women and youth. While our mandate is national, our primary field implementation targets Bangladesh's climate-vulnerable southern regions and key agricultural production zones.

Our Focus Areas

Climate-Smart Agriculture

Rehabilitating degraded farmland and introducing climate-adapted agricultural mechanization to strengthen rural livelihoods against a changing climate.

Food Security & Nutrition

Establishing localized homestead Nutri-Gardens that put reliable, nutritious food production directly in the hands of rural families.

Environmental Ecosystem Restoration

Restoring degraded ecosystems through circular-economy practices and structured waste mitigation.

SAFEGUARDS

Institutional Safeguards

Financial Integrity & AML/CFT

Complete segregation of financial duties — authorization, execution, recording, and reconciliation — with central-bank joint-signature mandates, asset register tracking, and anti-money-laundering/counter-terrorism screening of vendors against global sanctions lists.

Safeguarding & Child Protection

A zero-tolerance environment for sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (PSEAH), with 15-day independent investigation protocols. BREAT enforces Bangladesh's Children Act, 2013, prohibiting solo staff contact with minors and requiring formal parental consent for project media profiling.

Gender Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (GEDI)

Active representation of women across every structural tier, equal pay for equal work, and universal design assessments ensuring project spaces are accessible to rural women, youth, and persons with disabilities.

Risk & Transparency

Anonymous whistleblower protection with guaranteed non-retaliation, a formal conflict-of-interest recusal matrix, multi-quote procurement thresholds, and mandatory workplace health, safety, and climate-risk field assessments.
